Girls are fun!

Having a girl is proving to be way too much fun! Especially in the shopping department. Don't get me wrong, I always loved getting clothes for Jem...but boys clothing doesn't quite have the same sparkle and shine that little girls clothes do! Take for example a recent trip to the mall, to buy some shirts for Brandon. We bought some shirts for him. But not before I plonked down $80 on two cute outfits for Finley LOL. Now that's something I would never have done when shopping for Jem. But the call of baby gap and the cute little pink things and denim things and co-ordinating things...well...it was too much for me to bear. I HAD to make some purchases! Look for yourself...I got this cute little shirt...




...to go with this adorable denim skirt!





And then I fell in LOVE with this cowgirl style dress, matched with this versatile cardigan (don't you love how these words are just spewing out of my mouth LOL). I couldn't pass it up!





Finley has basically been in sleepers for the past 7 weeks...but look at how much older she looks when she's in an outfit! Here's a denim dress given to her by Jane O'Hagen (a fellow crafter friend of mine)...we dressed her up for church and I have to say, I loved her all gussied up!





I can't wait to put her in some of the new outfits I have bought (and yes, unfortunately for Brandon they have multiplied since our previous mall outing).

Day 7: Generations: Capture the generations surrounding your loved one... I took this opportunity to photograph our hands :) I remember when Jem's hand was so little and how teeny and soft it felt in mine.....and now when I see our hands together I can hardly believe it. His hand is almost as big as mine, though it is much softer and less wrinkled. He has his daddy's long fingers. He will have big, strong hands just like him. Ahhhh....the years have gone by so fast....I wish I could keep him little forever! This photograph was taken at bedtime, using an external flash that bounced light from the ceiling. The aperture was 4.0 , shutter speed was 1/125 and the ISO was 200 . Seriously...the external flash makes all the difference - I would not have been able to get a picture {inside at night} without it.

Stampin' Up!

How many of you have heard of Stampin' Up!? It's an at home party based rubber stamping company. Whew! That was a mouthful! Stampin' Up! has been around for years, and makes beautiful rubber stamp sets, exclusive colored inks/papers/markers and a ton of accessories! I have been using their products for a few years now, and just recently signed on to become a demonstrator myself! Yes, that's right........I am now open for business *LOL*. I am having my very first party in 2 weeks time, with my friend Katie hostessing a gathering! I will be demonstrating and allowing the guests to make two or three projects (depending on time) and will have the current catalog available for anyone who'd like to order (perhaps there is something they just can't live without -- hee hee, I certainly know that feeling!). Here are two of the projects I am thinking of doing; a heart card using the "Always" stamp set and a gift card holder using the "Baroque Motifs" ...

Joy Day 13

Day 13: Their Routines...document what it is they do on a regular basis... Jem has a routine that he always follows when he gets home from school. We call it doing his "Jobs". He unpacks his backpack and gives me his daily folder, then unloads his lunchbox. He goes upstairs and gets into his PJ's and puts his clothes away, and then....well then he practices his Piano lesson for the week. Jem has been taking piano since September, and he really loves it. It's not really a chore to have him practice - he does it willingly and happily. I love listening to him play - and he quite likes having an audience ;) At the moment he is practicing 2 songs - the Star Wars Theme Song (his favorite) & This Is Your Land.
