Daddy's Boy

Image
I don't know the exact moment it happened....it's been a gradual progression over the last couple of years I suppose. But it's official. My little boy, who used to say that he loved daddy 99% and mommy 100%, is now a Daddy's Boy. No doubt about it. The age of crying cause he misses mommy is doneso . Now he cries for daddy . Now he wants to cuddle with daddy. Now he wants to do things with daddy . Daddy is in, mommy is out. The End.

Freaky!

Image
THIS is what I encountered a few nights ago as I walked into Jem's room to say goodnight. My son is a great reader...he loves to read, especially in bed before 'lights out'. But uhhh, this was not at all what I was expecting to see. Freaky, right? Goodnight, son.

Crazy Critters

Image
Seriously. What is it about critters and my house? Yes, yes, I know.....the woods beside my home. A breeding ground to many different creatures. But why can't they just STAY there? Why do they have to 'be all up in my business'????? As in PLEASE STAY OFF MY PROPERTY and I'll leave you alone. *SIGH* They don't listen. Case in point, yesterday morning. Three, YES three, spiders are hanging on the outside of my sliding door. And if there's one thing I can NOT stand, it's spiders anywhere NEAR my house. The phrase 'deathly afraid' would not be inappropriate in this situation. Spiders scare the {insert your own descriptive word here} out of me, they literally make me freeze, shake and shiver....any size, any kind - it doesn't matter. Now back to the spiders yesterday morning. The ones playing on my sliding door. The sliding door I had to open to let the dog out to do her morning business. Let's just say that they are no longer living on my porc...

3rd Grade!

Image
Seriously. 3rd Grade already. Are you kidding me? How is this possible? Wasn't he JUST starting preschool? I mean, I think that his first day of preschool was one of my first blog entries here. THIRD GRADE???? What crazy world do we live in where kids keep growing up? CRAZY! So I know I've been anxious for summer to be over - this has been a weird summer, probably the saddest, most drama filled summer EVER. But the reality of my little boy starting 3rd grade didn't really hit me until I took him outside for his traditional "First day" photos. He just looks so BIG. So.... 3rd Grade-ish! You know what I mean? Tall, right? Love that smile! The "Mario Bros" backpack he got for his birthday this year, from his best friend Heather :) In front of his school.... ....and with his best friend Heather! Hope you have a GREAT year Jem - love you to infinity and beyond! Mommy xoxox
