Yard Update

Hip Hip Hooray for progress!!! Looky what Brandon and I set up this past Sunday - the pool! It fits PERFECTLY in the bottom corner of our property, and will be ready to use within a day or two! It's hard to see from the pictures, but it's pretty big and deep! It's 18ft x 9ft, and 4ft deep. Plenty big enough for Jem and a few of his friends! But boy oh boy, who knew it would take two days to fill the thing, and don't even get me started on the $140 we spent on salt (YES SALT) for the saltwater/chlorine generator. Supposedly it is spa quality salt *LOL* and it was 120lbs worth...but sheesh, it's SALT! I swear there will be no splashing of that pool water, not with that precious salt in there! Ok, I'm kidding. Well maybe not. Perhaps just a little splashing. BUT NO WATER WILL LEAVE THE INSIDE OF THE POOL if I have anything to do with it haha!


As you can see from the photo, the patio is almost done too! Brandon just has to do the end parts (as the pavers need to be cut to size - they're too wide). Now we're just waiting for some hot days (which here in Washington State could mean 80 degrees haha - that's about 26 Celcius for my Australian readers). Pool party time!

Ok, so I'm slightly obsessed with the Pioneer Woman , not like a stalker obesessed....but still....kinda obsessed :). Joy Day 13

Day 13: Their Routines...document what it is they do on a regular basis... Jem has a routine that he always follows when he gets home from school. We call it doing his "Jobs". He unpacks his backpack and gives me his daily folder, then unloads his lunchbox. He goes upstairs and gets into his PJ's and puts his clothes away, and then....well then he practices his Piano lesson for the week. Jem has been taking piano since September, and he really loves it. It's not really a chore to have him practice - he does it willingly and happily. I love listening to him play - and he quite likes having an audience ;) At the moment he is practicing 2 songs - the Star Wars Theme Song (his favorite) & This Is Your Land.

Joy Day 11

Day 11: Dreams... Today I was supposed to photograph something that represented the dreams of my loved one... and while I was prepared to get my camera out later in the day and do just that - something surprising happened :) So let's just say that this post is now no longer about dreams. Sorry. I decided to just go with the flow, and document my 'surprise' instead. What is it, you ask? Hmmm.... well, let's start at the beginning. My husband is away on a business trip. Gone for what, 7 days already? And he'll be gone a while more. He won't be here on Valentine's day, which makes me sadder than sad. Don't ask me why. It's not like we ever celebrate "valentine's day" anyway. But the fact that I CAN'T even if I decided I WANTED TO makes me feel bad. Boy, I really miss my Brandon. This week has gone by very slowly for us. Thank goodness I've been busy, because I imagine it would have been much worse. I'm thankful for my great fam...
