Legoland Vacation
That's right folks. You heard right. We FINALLY made it to LEGOLAND, California, for a secret, hush hush, family
>>mostly for Jem<<
vacation! It was AWESOME in so many ways....but let me start at the beginning :) So first of all you should probably know that Jem had NO IDEA. None whatsoever. Not that we were going anywhere, much less that we were going to LEGOLAND. In fact, we woke up that morning and "pretended" to drive him to school. Only we didn't take the exit. And when he kept asking us what we were doing, and where we were going....we simply told him that we were going to spend the day together as a family. And then we drove to the parking garage at the airport. And then he realized something was UP because we were all getting out of the car and we had luggage. SO FUN! We ended up telling him that we were going to spend a few days in San Diego, since he had the following 2 days + the weekend off from school....and that we would just chillax, spend some time at the pool, and enjoy being together. He seemed happy enough with that. We got to San Diego airport and it was warm and sunny....and we told him it would be a half hour drive to the hotel. What was the hotel called? Ummmm.....it was The Carls Hotel LOL (Liar Liar Mommy). We finally get to Carlsbad, and pull up to the hotel............

Ahhhhhhhhh!!!!! He was SHOCKED and HAPPY and EXCITED and QUIET all at once! We turned around and told him SURPRISE! We're spending 4 days at LEGOLAND! Then we told him we had another surprise for him in the hotel....he thought he was getting a t-shirt LOL....instead....we surprised him with our best friends, THE BAKULAS! We planned this vacation together, and surprised ALL of the kiddos! It was priceless!

The hotel itself was AWESOME. Only open for a few months, everything in there was Lego Themed. The lobby even had a giant pool of legos to play and build in! We settled in to our castle themed room, and then headed out to explore. During our trip we visited the Aquarium, and spent 3 days at LEGOLAND park.

Did I mention how excited the boys all were to be there, AND to be there together? They have some pretty cool parents, if I do say so myself ;)

We rode on many rides....all three days we were there. The first day in particular was great, as there was hardly no wait time in the lines. Friday and Saturday got a little busier....

Even "I" got to have some fun! The weather was absolutely gorgeous....so warm and sunny....such a big change from the Seattle dreariness we had come from.

We spent a lot of time outside, and a lot of time at the hotel pool. It was so neat. It was huge, and had giant floating Legos in it for the kids to play and build with. Finley had a BLAST in the water, and of course my little fish Jem never wanted to get out :)

Brandon's only request this trip was that we spend the afternoon watching a sunset at the beach in California. So off we went to a local beach, and spent a couple of hours hanging out by the water. It was such a beautiful beach....sandy, and spacious...I now know why so many people want to live in California. It's simply gorgeous there.

Fin proceeded to get very wet. Her clothing eventually had to be removed LOL.

Jem ran around and played in the sand.

And I enjoyed watching the sun go down with my honey :)

I'm so glad that we took this trip. It was relaxing, and refreshing....and such a big surprise for Jem! I loved getting to hang out with my bestest friend in the world, and got to experience something fun and new with my family.

On our last night there it was Brick-Or-Treat at the park, and the boys all got to go trick or treating at night at LEGOLAND! There were a LOT of people, but the park was decorated in such a fun and festive way. So fun for the boys!

We really need to take more of these trips, because everyone had a really great time! And keeping this surprise in, for 4 months, was totally worth it :)
