Easter x2


That's right.  My egg.  Uncracked.  I was the "official" household winner of the egg cracking competition that we partake in as part of our "Greek Easter" celebrations.  Greek (Orthodox) Easter was one week later than "Easter" this year, but since I was the winner winner chicken dinner, this photo preceeds the others :) 

Here are some pictures taken on Easter Sunday (the week before).  First off, here is Jem opening his Easter basket.   Lots of candy, a movie, some mario toys.  I even included edible grass this year (which was kind of gross).  I also had a mini egg hunt in our house for Jem, as you can see he found all (but one) these eggs!
Even Finley got her very first Easter basket, complete with bunny rattle, teething toy, chocolate bunny (which mommy HAD to eat), pink princess rubber duckie, and elmo bath book.  Baby's first Easter!
Here are my cute little kiddos :)  Gotta love them!  This second picture of Finley (in the dress) was taken on Greek Easter, while the first picture was taken a week before.
And here are all of the Carter grandkids - together for a quick family photo.  Not very easy to get all of them to look at the camera LOL.  This is the best I could get.

Ok, so I'm slightly obsessed with the Pioneer Woman , not like a stalker obesessed....but still....kinda obsessed :). Joy Day 13

Day 13: Their Routines...document what it is they do on a regular basis... Jem has a routine that he always follows when he gets home from school. We call it doing his "Jobs". He unpacks his backpack and gives me his daily folder, then unloads his lunchbox. He goes upstairs and gets into his PJ's and puts his clothes away, and then....well then he practices his Piano lesson for the week. Jem has been taking piano since September, and he really loves it. It's not really a chore to have him practice - he does it willingly and happily. I love listening to him play - and he quite likes having an audience ;) At the moment he is practicing 2 songs - the Star Wars Theme Song (his favorite) & This Is Your Land.

Joy Day 11

Day 11: Dreams... Today I was supposed to photograph something that represented the dreams of my loved one... and while I was prepared to get my camera out later in the day and do just that - something surprising happened :) So let's just say that this post is now no longer about dreams. Sorry. I decided to just go with the flow, and document my 'surprise' instead. What is it, you ask? Hmmm.... well, let's start at the beginning. My husband is away on a business trip. Gone for what, 7 days already? And he'll be gone a while more. He won't be here on Valentine's day, which makes me sadder than sad. Don't ask me why. It's not like we ever celebrate "valentine's day" anyway. But the fact that I CAN'T even if I decided I WANTED TO makes me feel bad. Boy, I really miss my Brandon. This week has gone by very slowly for us. Thank goodness I've been busy, because I imagine it would have been much worse. I'm thankful for my great fam...
