Easter x2

Image
That's right.  My egg.  Uncracked.  I was the "official" household winner of the egg cracking competition that we partake in as part of our "Greek Easter" celebrations.  Greek (Orthodox) Easter was one week later than "Easter" this year, but since I was the winner winner chicken dinner, this photo preceeds the others :)  Here are some pictures taken on Easter Sunday (the week before).  First off, here is Jem opening his Easter basket.   Lots of candy, a movie, some mario toys.  I even included edible grass this year (which was kind of gross).  I also had a mini egg hunt in our house for Jem, as you can see he found all (but one) these eggs! Even Finley got her very first Easter basket, complete with bunny rattle, teething toy, chocolate bunny (which mommy HAD to eat), pink princess rubber duckie, and elmo bath book.  Baby's first Easter! Here are my cute little kiddos :)  Gotta love them!  This second ...

Guess who's 3 months old already? INSANE!

My Kiddos.

Love this picture of my kiddos. My 10 year old absolutely adores his 3 month old sister. Still. I would have thought the novelty would have worn off by now...but nope. I guess wanting a 'brother or sister' for so many years has made him grateful for the one he finally got! Love these two together, they are so sweet and loving.

That tongue. Those eyes. That smile.

That girl.  That tongue.  It's always BUSY.  Doing somethin'.  Curling.  Poking out.  Licking something.  She sure can do lots of tricks with it.  And it sure is darn cute!  Of course, as her mom I think she's cute ALL the time :)   Especially when she smiles!  I love how she smiles with her whole face, crinkling up her eyes....ahhh....makes a mama's heart melt I tell ya !

Jem gets a haircut

Image
I'm just grateful that it wasn't ME that had to do it this time!  Usually it is....and usually I wait until the end of the day.  Because of THAT.  You know all that HAIR that you see on Jem's shirt in the photo above.  Except "I" am not usually that messy.  "I" usually don't get Jem all hairy.  Nope.  I just get it all over ME instead!  So this time around, I was very grateful for a husband that volunteered to cut my son's long (and shaggy) hair!  Thanks babe :)

Little Girl

I need to start taking more pictures of Jem, because when I looked through my album to see which pictures I could post on this blog, all I had were photos of Finley! Maybe it's because she's here all day long and is a willing subject; or maybe it's because my 10 year old boy is so over my pathological need to picture take. Whatever the reason, the photo files on my computer are overwhelmingly one sided. So my apologies for not having a Jem post. Instead, here are some of my favorite photos of Finley from the last couple of weeks :) First up, a couple of photos from when she was "10 Weeks Old". Finley has always loved bath time. Even if she is the crankiest of cranksters, the minute you put her in the water she calms down, relaxes, smiles and enjoys herself! Daddy gives her a bath most nights, like he used to do with Jem....and then I get her, all clean and happy and ready for a beddies! I just LOVE this picture of Fin...she was totally happy and relaxed...

Mum's Visit

Image
My mum has been staying with us for the last month. She's been keeping me company at home, getting to watch her new little grand-daughter grow. We've gone shopping a little (mum is a huge shopping fiend, don't let her tell you any different!) but mostly have stayed home, relaxing. One of the things mum has really enjoyed during her visit was getting to see it snow! It's snowed twice since she's been here, one time it even stuck around for the morning :) Here she is when it snowed for the first time... Last weekend my cousin Dean (my dad's sister's son), one of his boys - Aaron, and his wife Carol came to visit. Mum really enjoyed seeing them again! And let's not forget mum's FAVORITE moment here....NOT! The haircut. She had wanted me to snip off a HALF inch....and was not happy when I cut off about 3 inches instead LOL. Sorry! I'm not exactly a professional...and besides, it really needed it to be somewhat straight! It's not my f...
